When Graig Farm Organics came to us they were spending a significant monthly sum on Google Ads and expressed a keen interest in SEO. The owner Jonathan Rees was operating a family owned farm in Mid-Wales and using an e-commerce website to sell their organic produce.

After analysing their existing content it was clear they had no SEO strategy. Furthermore, competitor analysis revealed there were only a handful of competitors that were crowding the SERP for organic meat and related searches.

Portside proposed in-depth keyword research and e-commerce SEO for a section of their website with a view to updating the entire product range and supporting categories.

Keyword research

Portside conducted a substantial volume of keyword research for Graig Farm Organics. We created a dozen spreadsheets that covered their entire product range. This was broken down into sub-groups and product specifics to allow for granular implementation during the SEO copywriting phase. The end result was a comprehensive understanding of the exact and broad match search market.

E-commerce SEO

We used a proven e-commerce SEO strategy to implement dozens of updates to product pages and categories. Existing content was tipped into dedicated SEO documents along with accompanying keywords. Individual products were researched before the new content was written.

Our transparent process meant the client was full on-board with the motivations behind our actions. Once the new content was implemented the client saw significant increases in ranking positions, traffic and ultimately sales.

We were also asked to provide a range of ideas for a possible new logo and complete re-brand.

Logo design

During our conversations with the client there was clearly scope for a complete branding overhaul and new e-commerce website. Whilst the client wasn’t ready for this they did encourage us to submit new logo designs and a general colour scheme. We provided a range of ideas with a focus on ‘Organics’ as we saw this as the primary idea. Originally the client was just calling themselves Graig Farm. Organics was bolted on as per our suggestion.
