Dudley Craig Wines was to be a new venture based around the wine expertise of the owner. The client provided a unique consultancy service that would help the well off choose suitable wines for particular occasions.

A new website would catalogue the available wines according to country, region, type, year and so on. Portside were given certain guidance around colours and look and feel for both the logo and the website.



Logo design

Portside provided Dudley Craig Wines with a range of logo ideas loosely based on their request for:

‘something that reflects the classic, classy, luxury and specific nature of our product’ —Richard Dudley Craig

Richard (the owner) was happy using the foundation of green and grapes as a starting point, with the final aesthetic being open-ended. The final logo captured their request for an uncluttered and classic simplicity.

Web design

For the website we were only involved in the design, with a developer local to the client being used to build the website on the Joomla CMS platform. The new website would act as both a catalogue showcasing 100’s of wines, and as a sales tool for the wine consultation service.

Business stationary

There was also a requirement for a range of business stationary to be used as a sales tool and for administration. Everything was to be prepared for print with a printers local to Dudley Craig Wines tasked with production.
